Seasoned construction duo Michael Freeman and Paul Wilczynski bring decades of industry know-how to their roles, will oversee construction of all Doran Properties Group developments.

Bloomington, MN – Prolific Twin Cities multifamily and commercial real estate developer Kelly Doran today announced construction veterans Michael Freeman and Paul Wilczynski will together lead all construction for Doran Properties Group, a multigenerational development company Doran officially launched with his son, Evan Doran, earlier this month. Both Freeman and Wilczynski have extensive construction experience, having each worked in the industry for decades on a variety of product types, including multifamily.

“With a real estate portfolio totaling more than one billion dollars in value, we do not plan to slow down,” said Doran. “In the next year, Doran Properties Group has significant projects either in the ground or going into the ground and I want to ensure our in-house construction team has the expertise needed to oversee it all. Both Michael and Paul understand our focus on quality and equally understand the importance of respecting and treating our subcontractors as the long-term partners they are.”

Doran Properties Group is actively engaged in new development deals throughout the Twin Cities. Their latest projects include a 500-unit, two phase luxury apartment community under construction in Saint Anthony Village named The Ruby, and two projects that are expected to start later this year, including the 305-unit second phase of the Triple Crown Residences at Canterbury in Shakopee and a fourth 164-unit phase of the Reserve at Arbor Lakes in Maple Grove. In addition, Doran Properties Group is planning on starting the construction of two additional projects next year which will include a 200-unit senior project in Maple Grove and a 200-unit apartment building located in Lakewood, Colorado.

“I was attracted immediately to Doran Properties Group and Kelly’s mindset as an entrepreneur,” said Freeman, who relocated with his family from Florida where he held senior construction roles with Equity Lifestyle Properties in Tampa and previously, Wyndham Destinations in Salt Lake City, Utah.  “I respect his vision and it’s so much easier to get jobs done when the owner you work for has such a deep understanding of construction and its complexities.”

Wilczynski comes to Doran Properties Group from Doran Companies where he led construction of the first phase of The Triple Crown Residences at Canterbury, a 321-unit multi-phased gated luxury apartment community in Shakopee. He held previous construction management roles at Krauss-Anderson and St. Louis-based McCarthy Building Companies.

“I really enjoyed working with both Evan and Kelly on The Triple Crown Residences in Shakopee,” said Wilcynski. “Their energy, vision and accessibility are some of the qualities I really appreciate and I’m excited to continue working with them as I join Doran Properties Group. It’s not often you get that family feel in an organization of our size, but Kelly and Evan really help to foster that throughout the company.”

Freeman holds a BA in Business Administration from the University of Chicago while Wilczynski holds both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Construction Management from the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
